Deputy Chief Justice; Raymond Zondo has moved step ahead to compel the former South African president Jacob Zuma to come before his commission to respond against corruption allegations that were levelled against him.

Urgent legal application was lodged with the South African Constitutuonal Court to compel Jacob Zuma to comply with summons issued to him to appear before the commission between 18 to 22 January and 15 to 19 February 2021.

Zondo Commission was formed in January 2018 by the government of Jacob Zuma after the former public protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela made recommendation to be established.

Thuli Madonsela suggested such commission to be formed following a complaint that was lodged by a catholic church priest; Stanslaus Muyebe that Guptas captured the South African government and they were responsible to appoint various ministers to their positions.
